CONNECTING TO THE SCREEN WORLD
Through our connection with the Pinewood Studios based Ann Koska Agency, YESS (Youths Enriching Stage and Screen - see Facebook) are offering summer holiday workshops in screen acting. The workshops will be led by Rachel Lloyd and Victoria Donovan. Both are DBS certified and professionally trained. They have worked on screen and behind the scenes on many Golden Globe nominated, Oscar winning and BAFTA films.
VENUE, TIMES & DATES
The six hour workshops will be held on both Thursday 27th and Friday 28th July at Iver Village Hall. The morning workshop for 8-11 year olds will be from 10am-1pm on both days. The afternoon workshop for 12+ year olds will be from 1.30-4.30pm on both days.
The workshop is a great opportunity for students to try their hands at screen acting; and to find out how to enjoy it and flourish in the screen environment. If they allow it, it will be a lot of fun. Throughout the workshop students will be taught how to act on screen and the different techniques needed to accomplish this skill. Students will work on camera and analysed for positive constructive feedback by other participants and tutors. The workshop will comprise the following elements

This will include improvisation to equip the students with the Method Tools, which will enable them to build a truthful character and deliver a well- rounded performance. A high level of concentration is essential to enable a quality performance. Concentration triggers belief, impulses and imagination.
This will prepare students to take actions based on their natural instincts, developing their creativity, confidence and communication. It will cover Screen Technique, Confidence, Communication and Listening, Audition Techniques - Sight reading and Monologues.
WHO’S WHO ON SET
Effective communication, confidence and listening create the best understanding among people on a film set. This element will encourage self- development, interpersonal skills, mutual understanding, co-operation and trust. These are important skills both a film set and in everyday life.
